Love these guys. Great pizza and a very good price for what you get. Our preferred pizza spot on the west side. Staff is friendly too.

Franco's is good because it's cheap pizza by-the-slice and the toppings are fresh. But if you catch them at the wrong time (mid-lunch or just after) when the pizzas have already been fired and boxed...they just pull out a room temperature slice and toss it at you. So you get what you pay for.

(Not part of the commercial chain Franco's) Franco's Pizza on Alpine in Grand Rapids, MI is the #1 best pizza spot in America! It would be a tragedy if they ever closed down. I love pizza and make it a point to test local spots where ever I move to. The deluxe style with bacon is my favorite. He puts just the right amount of sauce and ingredients. And unlike most pizza shops, he does not skimp. The mushrooms! Oh my goodness! The veggies! The meats! Everything makes sweet harmony in my mouth. If you have overlooked this place, you might need to repent and get your life in order by becoming a regular. The only way you might not enjoy this is if you either hate pizza, are unhappy, a pro at denying what's good, have no sense of smell or taste, and/or are a competing pizza shop with ill intentions of spreading false rumors for the purpose of increasing your own business. This is the best, PERIOD! My one sadness, is I've lived in San Diego for the past 2 years. Every single time the idea of pizza has come up, Franco's is first on my mind.

If your looking for a great slice of pizza at even a better price this is the place. I come here quite often for their lunch specials. I am always looking for great crust and this is some of the best I have had anywhere. But, everything about this pizza is authentic and outstanding. I do however, recommend getting this to go as the place is a little run down, or at least don't bring a date here for its ambiance. Lunch can get pretty busy but their service is quick and efficient. My favorite place for sliced pizza!

My family and I took advantage of a coupon they have for everyday. Two calzones both w/ 3 toppings for 11.99 and my mom got a sub. The calzone dough was light and fluffy...the filling was delicious! And my mom who's very picky about her subs loved hers! It didn't get 5 stars bc I found out you can't leave a tip if you use a card to pay.

Franco's is far and away my favorite pizza place. The food is great and the prices are surprisingly low. Part of my love for this restaurant may stem from it not being a part of a large chain or franchise. It might just be me, but that makes the pizza taste a little better and feel a little more organic and less like a pre-packaged, perfectly proportioned commodity. The only complaint I have is that the parking lot is a little small and can be hard to get out of at times. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it's worth noting. Of course it isn't a problem if you have them deliver. But I thought I's toss out my two cents and recommend others to check the place out, order a pizza, and drop off a tip. It's worth it.

I just moved to the area yesterday so in order to avoid cooking in an unpacked home, I opted to order pizza. This pie was pretty dang good. The sauce is tasty, the toppings seem fresh and proportionate, and the cheese is delicious. If there was a bit more garlic in the sauce or crust, it might just be my favorite of all time but I am a garlic nut. Still great though!

Decent pizza. lacking in flavor a bit, which i think might be because of the sauce. the sauce is a bit on the sweet side, but not bad. I would recommend this to others.

really good pizza and really good prices. I just wish they put more sauce on the pizza, but now that I am thinking about it, I will be happy to order & pay for extra sauce next time. The owner works most days and is a pretty neat guy. they are on a darker and industrial part of Alpine, across from the old GM plant. they have a small sit down area, but most of their business seems to be take out or delivery.

Our family is on a search to discover the best pizza delivery on the NW side. We ordered a large sausage, mushroom and artichoke heart, a small cheese and an order of cheesy bread-sticks. Our order arrived after about 45 minutes, the driver was friendly and polite. The good: the crust was tender and cooked evenly and the bread-sticks were also light and toasty. The sausage had a nice flavor and was ample. The meh: No artichoke hearts just a few sparce leaves that got too hot and were scorched intermittently. The mushrooms were canned, not our first choice but they were at least good sized. The sauce was strangely over acidic, I was expecting a sweeter sauce based on prior reviews. The overall flavor of the pizza was ok, not bad, not unique but good enough for dinner. The not so good: at some point between Francos and my house our pizza must have been unlevel because the cheese and toppings on our large had slid in a melty heap to one end of the box. About half the pizza was "deconstructed" and the other half was now in the center of the pie. No one wants to have to scrape their pizza off the side of the box. There was no paper or cardboard under the small cheese so it ended up sticking to the bottom of the box. We were hungry and those things happen but it affected how we ate. Obviously the cheese/topping ratio was skewed because of the imbalance. I am glad to have tried it but I think we will just stick a little closer to home next time.

By far the worst pizza we ever had. I thought we would try a small place (I tend to like the non chain restaurants), but this was beyond disappointing. It tasted worse than cheap frozen pizza you can buy at the store. Don't waste your money here.

Amazing pizza from real Italians. They have a great takeout special during the week - $10 for a very big one topping pizza. They are our new go-to pizzeria.

They make a pretty good pizza. The sauce is slightly sweet and it seems like they place the toppings intermittently with the cheese sometimes which I personally don't care for but if you prefer your meat and veggies underneath the cheese this may be a good option. They also have crazy specials! Like cheaper than chain specials for homemade dough and ample toppings. I think one of their specials is two calzones for 12-14, three toppings each. I mean, man, that's like two for the price of one and they allow you more than one topping which seems more and more rare with pizza specials. You must tip with cash though, no option to add it when you order paying with a card or when signing your receipt.

The pizza was very good and the breadsticks were a pleasant surprise too. The setting is a little outdated (borderline run down) for a place to sit down and eat with family. For take out though, I was extremely satisfied. The food was great and I would highly recommend you stop in for lunch slices or pick up for home.

PROS: It was good. The crust and sauce were well done. The pizza was delivered hot. CONS: The canned mushrooms, not so much. If I had known that the mushrooms were not fresh, I would have just gone with out, however each bite with the dang things tasted weird (like canned mushrooms). SUMMARY: Its pizza, so its pretty tough to be too hard on it. Try it yourself, but my advice is to skip the canned mushrooms. Other Notes: The folks that got my call for delivery seemed to have trouble with hearing me - could be my mobile or that it was loud their. It would have been nice to order online, or at least find a menu online, but not the end of the world. The delivery guy was pretty cool, found his way up to our office and found me. That was not expected. I figured I would have to head out to the parking lot to get my pizza.
